The League of Women Voters of Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Area (LWV-LF/LB) and the Adlai Stevenson Center on Democracy invite the public to a panel discussion “Making Democracy Work: Gerrymandering and Its Impact on Public Policy” on Wednesday, January 24. The event will take place at the Gorton Community Center in Lake Forest at 7:30 p.m. A distinguished panel will discuss partisan gerrymandering and its impact on public policy and voting rights, including recent elections and the current Supreme Court case Gill V. Whitford about hyper-partisan redistricting in Wisconsin. The panel includes election law attorney Nicholas Stephanopoulos (professor, University of Chicago law); Lori Lightfoot (partner, Mayer Brown); and state Rep. Scott Drury. The event is free and open to the public.
