About Us

The Lake Forest Civic Orchestra celebrates its 37th year as Lake Forest’s orchestra. It is a true community orchestra bringing professional and accomplished amateur musicians together to perform Sunday concerts at its home, Gorton Center. The Lake Forest Civic Orchestra is an orchestra that has made it possible for people of all ages to use their musical talents and training throughout their lives. The orchestra is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization and relies heavily on business sponsorship and local advertising for funding.

This season, we celebrate iconic American places and music that was written in or about those places, or that evokes strong regional imagery. Four subscription concerts each focus on an American location:
October 5, 2025 - Native New Yorker
November 9, 2025 - Symphonic Cascade
March 15, 2026 - Westward Ho
May 3, 2026 - Appalachia

In collaboration with Gorton Center, we also offer two family-oriented holiday concerts at 1:30 and 4pm on Sunday, December 21st. Delight in traditional classics and new works that will become holiday favorites. Santa makes a visit at both performances!

Tickets to all performances sell out well in advance.

Community members who are musicians that wish to perform with the LFCO may email info@lakeforestcivicorchestra.org for more information.
